Glass Camp 1: Let the calluses begin!

Glass camp began in earnest with Lucas showing up early to light up and lay out some tools.

It was pretty windy, with the fans going and the doors open, and we had some trouble with papers not staying put until...

We were eager to practice what Chris had taught us. Became obvious pretty quickly that the Seattle Dump is hard and that some of the tricks were beyond our skill level. After being burned by hot pipes repeatedly, Jen started skipping the quench before gather. The Seattle Dump is fun though and it's great teamwork.

On Monday we were heavily focused on drills - we were failing fast and often. Lucas made some great cylinders.

Jen started to feel things click about what determines the width of the base and how much glass needs to be gathered for a pint glass.
