Glassblowing 1 #3: Bits and Bobs

We started the class playing "hot potato" with a big hunk of glass. After several failed attempts, we managed to transfer it 2 times in a row successfully and moved on to the next thing: bits.

The first bits we made were pointy for wraps. We covered a practice hunk of glass with some cheap colors, then put on handles. This is where I first really saw the teamwork aspect come into full force. One person would be working on the piece while another went and gathered glass, colored it, shaped it, and brought it over to be applied to the main chunk.

Practice Cactus

I dubbed the thing we learned on the practice cactus.

Sari, the third person in the class, made a pitcher.

I made a bumble bee vase.

Jen didn't make it to this one. Make-up class in the future!
