Having had a good time at our first class, we decided to sign up for a 4-week 4-session class. This one was also taught by Sarah Michalik and promised to get us more comfortable with the fundamentals.
We started out with some throwaway practice stuff. A couple gathers of clear glass, shaped into a sphere then turned into a snow man with jacks.
Once we had all made snow men, I made a...candlestick?

Tweezers holder?

My tweezers holder thing was basically the same as a paperweight, but shaped a bit more tubularly. The hole was added by just pushing in with an iron rod.
Jen made a flower. First she picked 2 colors: stem and petals. Then she gathered some glass, put the stem color on, melted it in, gathered some more glass, and dunked the tip in the petal color. Once everything was good and melted in, she made a ball out of the glass and crimped it with tweezers. A twist in the middle made a roughly rose-shaped flower. Some pulling with diamond shears got us a stem, and we cracked it off.
